"Casnewydd" (kas-new-with) is anything but ordinary for Newport! This unique earthhouse is Welsh-inspired, mid-century styled, and a rare find for Aquidneck Island getaways. The house sleeps up to 6 (6 adults over 12yo, max) and is outfitted for comfort and convenience, just 4 minutes to the beach and 10 mins (or less) to downtown Newport. Enjoy a super-serene location with privacy, large open living area, loads of outdoor space to enjoy, and all the necessary amenities for a perfect vacation.
This unique single-level house is built into the earth for sustainability and comfort and was renovated in 2024. The house maintains a comfortable baseline temperature no matter what season you're staying in, but the powerful mini-split system will easily heat and cool to your comfort. The house has two bedrooms including a primary suite with king-size bed, large walk-in closet, and attached bathroom (doorless between sleeping area and bathroom), as well as a secondary bedroom with queen-size bed. Attached to the living space, you'll find what we call "the snug" which offers a bonus space with two twin bunks, great for kids.
The house is well-equipped with towels, soaps, laundry, and beach necessities. The kitchen offers plenty of cookware, spices and cooking oils/vinegar, and coffee/tea (bring your favorite creamer!). Indoor seating for 8, outdoor seating for 6. BBQ for grilling and small herb garden to enjoy. Stream your services on the smart TV and bluetooth device provided for music.
Serene location with a long driveway that offers comfortable parking for 4-5 cars.
