Perched on 5 acres of private property in the New York Catskill region, Wilderness Lake House was established as a wooded retreat for a New York City gallerist and artist residency. This eclectic oasis features showroom-quality artworks, furniture, and rugs - a perfect marriage of Scandinavian minimalism meets Boho-chic. The property also ensures that discerning guests can come for peace and tranquility, while remaining comfortable with all the modern luxuries and amenities needed to stay for a while.
KITCHEN AND DINING SPACE
The kitchen was built as the test kitchen for New York pastry chef Judi Arnold of Dufour Pastry and has played host to celebrity chefs over the years, with a charming butcher block perfect for a baker or for congregating. The kitchen has all new Bertazzoni and Breville appliances including coffee maker, gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. The dining room table comfortably sits 6 for a formal dinner or everyday meals.
INDOOR LIVING SPACE
The living room features high ceilings and includes a wood burning fireplace and complimentary wood is provided. For rainy days, there is a flatscreen TV, with Apple TV (HBO, Netflix, Amazon prime, Disney+, etc.), Bose sound system, excellent Wifi to stay connected or for working remotely (plus a dedicated Indonesian desk), as well as board games and books for your enjoyment.
WORK FROM HOME
We have an antique desk that serves as beautiful working space in the house, supported with a speedy 210 MBPS average internet speed (faster than most apartments in NYC) to ensure fast download speeds as well as seamless Zoom meetings.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE
The property is situated on 5 quiet, wooded acres overlooking our private lake Wilderness.
The back deck features an outdoor dining area, a newly installed heated outdoor shower, 1 Weber Gas Grill, and 2 Weber BBQ charcoal grills.
There is a screened in porch located just off the dining area that is ideal for dining al fresco or pitching a tent. (Note: the porch is not heated so it is best enjoyed during Spring, Summer and early Fall.)
The grounds post a massive stone fire pit, a private dock, a tandem Wilderness Kayak, a small fishing boat, bocce, hammocks, and more.
We have a four person hot tub overlooking the lake and firepit.
The Stout Canvas Safari tent is situated in the trees near the lake, providing extra privacy from the main house.
A short drive from the house you have access to over 20,000 acres of protected nature preserves - excellent for hiking, Bald Eagle watching, kayaking, camping, and fishing. Neversink River Gorge, recognized by The Nature Conservancy as one of “75 Last Great Places,” is a mere 5 minute drive. Rio Reservoir, excellent for swimming and kayaking, is just 3 minutes away. The Delaware River, excellent for tubing or canoeing, is 20 minutes from the property.
